The Zahir is fiction novel, written by Paulo Coelho, based on love, loss and obsession.
Zahir literally translates to the obvious or conspicuous, in Arabic.
The book is about a man who prefers to be in his comfort zone till his 3r wife persuades him that he should follow his dream and the only reason he is procrastinating is because he scared of failure and should take his leap of faith.
Years pass by, he becomes one of the best selling author but he fails to see that his wife has stopped walking with him. Her footprints had left much before and thats when he realises what her absence can cause. The pain becomes unbearable and he decides to go on a journey of finding her.
In that journey, he meets people who loved his and whom his wife would have loved. He understands that every relation is different and there is no way you can judge them on the basis of your perception. The energy of love is too big to contain, and can only loose yourself to it. At last when the time comes and he finds his wife. She is pregnant to someone else, waiting for him.
This book has been translated to 44 different languages.
