Raat Akeli Hai- Movie review

Raat akeli hai, is a bollywood crime suspense thriller drama movie, directed by Honey Trehan and written by Smita Singh, starring Nawazuddin Siddiqui, and Radhika Apte in lead along with Shweta Tripathi, Aditya Srivastava, Trigmanshu Dhaulia and Shivani Raghuvanshi. Raat akeli hai was released on 31st july 2020, spanning over 2hours and 29 minutes.

The story revolves around a family, who has a name to protect and it twines around the extent they go to protect it.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui, playing the role of a police officer, gets to solve an accident case of a member belonging to this family. He soon falls for the widow of the victim who is everything but what he ever wanted in his wife. The movie challenges and makes you question the stereotypical Indian mentality. A woman wearing short clothes is at fault, having a relationship is slut, even if she is molested she is the one who is characterless. It will boil your blood to see how the patriarchal society holds her responsible for anything bad that befalls her or the family.

It is a critically acclaimed, 100% rotten tomatoes movie and 7.3/10 in IMDb rating.

Nawazuddin Siddiqui won the best actor award at Filmfare for this movie.
