Shikara is a bollywood romance/ drama spanning over 2hrs, directed by Vidhu Vinod Chopra. It was released on 7th Feb 2020.
Sadia as Shanti Dhar and Aadil Khan as Shiv Kumar Dhar are in lead.
This film is inspired by ‘Our moon has blood clots’ written by Rahul Pandita.
It is based on the love story of a Kashmiri Pandit couple during 1990s when there was a peak of insurgency in Jammu and Kashmir followed by exodus of Kashmiri Pandits from the Valley.
So basically the movie starts with an older couple coming to presidential suit. They are invited by Barack Obama. And they recall their life 30years back, how they met and their plight and struggle to earn a living in their own motherland.
It is a beautiful love story. This movie very gracefully shows how their relation with friends and closed ones get strained.
But where did they go? How did they live? And above all were they really called by Barack Obama? If yes, why?
The enchanting landscapes were the cherry on the cake. It is beautifully directed and shot.
Rating- well, i cried at the end of the movie.
