Why diary? Why go through so much hassle? What if someone finds out?

Diary is a medium of channeling your emotions along with other things like exercise or baking or shopping. But unlike other methods, this will help you self reflect when you start writing you will start understanding yourself better, your hidden emotions, your dreams and desires. And maybe someday when you turn back and look, you will see how far you have come and this might help you in understanding your hidden dreams. You don't have to be a writer, you just need to be ready to feel. And keep the diary hidden because that can cause a lot of trouble.

Now, I like to personalize my diary so what I do is,

1st I write all the months in the year and write holidays, bdays, anniversaries and any other events. This will give you a broad picture.

Then start with whichever month you want to start from. There are 3 parts of this.

First contains a column with dates written to write, what you did in a day. Trust me, this will hit you like a bus.

When I started writing, I realised that there is so much time I waste.

Then the 2nd section is a tracker, for example exercise. You want to exercise everyday in a month and you are a lazy panda like me, so this will really help. Add dates and color the days you did the exercise and trust me this is the most challenging section in the whole diary because at the end of the month it kind of feels bad when some or all of your circles are not coloured and thus it is equally motivating.

And then the 3rd section is highlightes. Well, this comes in the first page followed by day writing and then tracker. That is what I follow, you can choose however you feel like. Now in this you can write the amount of money you have spent, the best thing happened to you on that day so you know you can come back to the diary part of that day and read.

And after these sections comes the diary part, where it has 4 heading.

Well, before that of course the date, day, you can write the temperature.

Then the 1st heading is physically, where you write how you are feeling physically. Are you in pain? Where does it hurt? This will help your doctor or it will make you feel glad you are healthy.

Second heading is mentally. Now this part is important, in today's world because we are stressed, tensed, sad, angry so this will help you track down your emotions and if you look closely you may find a pattern or things that make you happy. And if you feel your emotions are all over the place like mine right now. Then dedicate an extra space for that area. Write the dates and write how you are feeling. It will help you understand a lot of things in one glance.

And the 3rd heading is again the toughest and my favourite one. It's called gratitude, where you write what you are grateful for, obviously. So in a day try writing 3 minimum. Trust me, this is a blessing. You will realise that even when things are difficult, you still have things to be grateful for and I believe it's a blessing because it gives hope in darkness and if you believe in the universe you know its positive channeling.

The 4th heading is dear diary, where you can pour down your emotions.

You can add another heading called challenge, where you write down your tasks for tomorrow.

Other than this if it's not too overwhelming, you can make another section for favourite movies, songs, novels and at the end of the month you will see how many movies you have watched or novels you have read so you can come back to your favourite songs.

Then right now it's of no use but you can always make a section for travel where you write places you want to go or you went or restaurants you ate from. But don't make it a travel journal.

I hope this helps.
